About Emerald Cove

Emerald Cove is one of the newer communities in La Jolla, California. This gated neighborhood overlooks the ocean, canyons, and Bird Rock area.

The homes in Emerald Cove were built between 1999 and 2004 with an average of 2,600 square feet and three to four bedrooms. There is a Home Owners Association fee but residents also have access to the facilities at the Alta La Jolla Club. There are two swimming pools, a weight room, clubhouse, and lighted tennis courts.

The San Diego Unified School District has jurisdiction over this area. Students may attend highly ranked facilities such as Bird Rock Elementary School, Muirlands Middle School, and La Jolla High School. There are several prep schools including The Bishop’s School, Delphi Academy, and The Gillispie School. This city is the home of the University of California, San Diego and National University.

This community is close to the Kate O. Sessions Memorial Park which offers sports fields and playgrounds. Golf enthusiasts will find several venues like the La Jolla Country Club, The Lodge at Torrey Pines, and San Diego Golf. The La Jolla Recreation Center to the north offers many events and classes like Tai Chi, yoga, and gymnastics. This facility has three playgrounds, two basketball courts, and a tennis court.

There are many shops in this city like Bird Rock Surf, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, and Bird Rock Fine Wine. The Interstate 5 is only minutes away and near centers like the La Jolla Village Square, Villa Norte Shopping Center, and Westfield UTC where you’ll find chain retailers, a skating rink, and a theater.

La Jolla is an affluent hillside community overlooking the ocean and covering seven miles of property. Popular beaches include La Jolla Cove, Children’s Pool Beach, La Jolla Shores, and Windansea Beach. Landmarks include the Grande Colonial Hotel, Wisteria Cottage, and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
